GIORGIO ARMANI SPA, TOKYO
INTERIOR DESIGN, 2008
LABVERT conceived the brand’s first SPA to be wholly embedded in the Giorgio Armani philosophy. As part of the Giorgio Armani concept store in Tokyo, a new approach to a SPA was realized within an area measuring 300 m2. The idea was to make the brand something to be felt and experienced: the design was done following the choice of a compactly organized floor plan which allows the location to be “walked through.” Starting from a central corridor, one enters three equally large, linearly arranged rooms in which SPA treatments developed expressly for this location are conducted. One leaves the treatment rooms via a “salon” in which, following a massage, one rests and prepares to re-enter the outside world. Within the rooms, classic materials such as stone and ceramics dominate, and these are in turn varied by gold-colored fabrics encased in glass which lend the place a soft glow much akin to the natural light of the evening.
